Inspired by her project travels to Ghana/West Africa, the Hamburg painter's abstract experimental acrylic paintings mostly arise spontaneously and with only a rough idea of the result. Layer by layer, intuition and experience flow into each of her painting processes and condense into ever new worlds of images.

By mixing techniques with chalk, ash, wax, pigments and bitumen as well as by using natural materials such as coffee and earth a dialogue between form and colour is created, which coheres with each colour layer in traces and lines. Weathered finds are also often incorporated as components in her works.

Visible fragments create color spaces – bodies/objects – identities in the paintings of SUSANNE POLLACH, whose powerful effect often have a silent origin.
